Tailstock Die Holder Set with 3 Morse Taper Shank
This versatile Tailstock Die Holder Set is designed for accurately holding round dies in the lathe tailstock, ensuring straight, precise thread cutting.
The set includes a 3 Morse Taper (MT3) shank and four interchangeable die holders to suit the following die sizes:
- 13/16" (20.6 mm)
- 1" (25.4 mm)
- 1-5/16" (33.3 mm)
- 1-1/2" (38.1 mm)
Each die holder is secured to the MT3 shank with a hardened retaining pin that engages slots on either side of the holder, allowing approximately 1-1/2" (38 mm) of axial float. This floating action helps the die follow the work piece naturally, producing cleaner, more accurate threads while reducing the risk of cross-threading.
A pin punch is included for quick and easy removal of the retaining pin when changing die holders.
