The Azebiki style of saw is traditionally used in Japan for cutting sliding dovetail joints, trenches and slots for sliding Shoji screens.

This saw's curved blade profile allows the craftsperson to begin a cut in the middle of a board and ensures that at least some saw teeth are continually in contact with timber, whereas flat blades can be obstructed by build-ups of saw dust.

Equipped with teeth profiled for crosscutting on one side and rip-cutting on the other, this versatile saw can be used in any orientation. It's short blade length can also be used to cut large-radius curves.

Length of blade: 60mm

  • Overall length 320mm
  • Steel blade is hardened to HRC52
