The Japanese carving iron with angled, flat blade, 12.5 mm, is perfect for fine carving work.
This carving iron is designed for use with the palm of the hand or a hammer and is therefore suitable for both fine and heavier carving work. The oak wood handle fits comfortably in the hand and ensures good control during use.
The steel used for these carving knives is Shirogami steel (white paper steel). This type of steel is known for its exceptionally high quality and is easy to sharpen. This is possible with the Michihamono sharpening cloth (available soon). To keep the carving tools sharp, it is advisable to run them against the sharpening cloth after each use.
